Which standard is this site built to?
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What has been built in?
- One main heading per page and headings in order, so screen readers can jump between sections.
- A skip link as the first item on every page, and a menu that opens with a button and with the keyboard.
- Text and buttons checked for colour contrast; focus outlines visible on every link and control.
- Form fields with written labels; no field depends on colour or placeholder text alone.
- Descriptive alternative text on photographs, and touch targets sized for fingers on phones.
- Pages that reflow at phone widths without sideways scrolling.
Where does the site fall short?
The chat window comes from an outside provider and may not meet every criterion. Some older PDF or third-party content linked from agency sites is outside our control. The phone line and email are always available as alternatives.
