Post-construction cleaning in Louisville

Drywall sanding leaves a film on every surface in the house, including rooms nobody worked in. This clean removes it, along with paint specks, stickers and adhesive.

Why construction dust needs its own clean

Joint compound dust is finer than household dust. A household vacuum blows much of it back into the air, and a damp cloth smears it into a paste until the cloth is rinsed. Post-construction cleaning uses HEPA vacuums and repeated passes with damp microfiber, working from the ceiling down so nothing falls onto a surface that is already done.

The usual sequence

  1. Vacuum dust from vents, ledges, window frames, door tops and inside new cabinets
  2. Wipe walls and trim where dust has settled, then cabinet faces and counters
  3. Remove manufacturer stickers, protective film and adhesive residue
  4. Scrape paint specks off glass and tile with a flat blade; clean fixtures and hardware
  5. Clean floors last: vacuum, then damp-mop or wipe according to the floor type

Remodels, additions and new builds

We clean after kitchen and bath remodels in older Louisville homes, finished basements, room additions, and new houses in the subdivisions going up in Bullitt and Oldham counties. Builders and remodelers can book a final clean before handing over the keys, and homeowners can book one after the crew's own rough clean.

Book this clean once the trades are truly finished. If the painter or flooring installer still has a day left, the dust will come back.

Questions about post-construction cleaning

Can you clean while work is still going on?

We can do a rough clean between phases, but the final clean should come after the last trade has left the house.

Do you remove construction debris?

No hauling of lumber, drywall scraps or packaging in bulk. The team bags normal cleaning waste; ask your contractor about the dumpster load.

Will you clean inside the new cabinets and drawers?

Yes. Sawdust and drywall dust collect inside new cabinets; they are vacuumed and wiped as part of this service.

Can a builder book this for a new home?

Yes. Builders and remodelers book final cleans directly; we invoice whoever books.
